Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino has been on the scene for a while now, but since buying his new record "Because the Internet", I've really been able to appreciate his crazy diverse talent and ear for production and vision. Essentially, this album is a soundtrack to a screenplay Donald wrote himself, which tells a story of a slightly depressed rich kid, and his journey through love, drug addiction and self discovery. Corny, but still so cool, this album shifts from kicking club tracks to deep thought provoking spoken word and can seem a bit disjointed at times, although still ultimately a great release. Not just on the musical scene but working in film, writing and comedy, Donald Glover is one extremely talented guy, and this is why he gets my seal of approval for December. He's a great hybrid between pop and rap, and can be listened to by anyone. I definitely recommend listening to his new album and reading the screenplay, you'll sure to get a great laugh out of it, as well as a little bit of a message about the high life.
